As soon as you start to fall in love with the city, we get to go back home again.
I have not been fair to Beirut, the city raved by all as the hippest place in the middle east, the Paris of the orient, the Switzerland of the levant, where west meets east and night never sleeps.
It's surprising how night life has evolved here, whole districts were converted into a medley of restaurants, pubs and dancing places.
But can we praise a society because of their nightlife? In this part of the world, yes... Compared to the countries surrounding Lebanon, Women have uncompaired rights and freedom, it would only stop at the judicial system where it is run by religion depending on your faith, where women in some religions are considered second class.
Maybe because of the history I have with Beirut, I might have endured the unfairness of the Lebanese social ladder. Growing up with an honest hard working father and mother who knew nothing about using any strings to get their way, a much needed element until today in the Lebanese social system.
This was an amazing trip, I loved that we were able to spend great time together as a family, Rob, Nathan and I sharing along time and wonderful memories with our respective families. They saw how Nate has changed and slowly is developing his own personality and identity. We did lots of outings was it to the beach, play ground areas and of course restaurants.
I am hoping my sister's recovery will keep on improving fast and steady, I did not know what to expect before seeing her, now that I did, I feel confident she is in good hands. She has a great husband and a healthy baby to look forward raising, he is giving her much hope and ambition in the future.
In the end it is good to be back home, we were jet-lagged for a few days after the trip. It was funny waking up after a nap or in the morning not sure where we are, we knew it was home but we've had so many in the last few days.
I know this has been a long blog especially in the nowadays era of tweets and Facebook messages, there is less desire to read more than a sentence, so if you got this far, let me congratulate you. Don't forget to add a message or a note in the message section.
All my love
