We started the day by running some errands then drove to Byblos or Jbeil, the city of the alphabet. The legend says that this city exported the first rock carved biblot (hence the name Byblos) to Athens where it later evolved to the greek alphabet.
We got to éddé sands, a beach resort, with multiple swimming pools, restaurants and a white sandy beach. The same beach we used to swim at when we were kids, back then it was free access, no membership or sophistication, I still remember the beach parties there and the night camp fire while playing the guitar, it all changed now. It was such a simple concept and way of living.
Nathan was scuba diving in the pool later on with his floaters, he just wanted to swim on his own. It was a great day for us with Michelle, Juliana, and mom. Rob, Nathan and I were enjoying every minute.
Came the evening, we put Nate to bed then went to Bardo where we met Fida and Janna, our very old girlfriends from Beirut, my cousin Richard and his wife and Juliana my sister.
Bardo is such a fusion of food, culture and sexual identity. During the week it is a bearable place but on the weekend it's packed with pretentious m'as tu vus!
The night was young at midnight for Beirut but the idea of Nathan Waking up really early made us call it a night.
