George's World Travels
Hi,
Ive been ill for last few days. Both Meryl and I have caught something of the kids at the orphanage. Both couldnt face work this morning. So Ive had a sleepy morning, trying to catch up on lost sleep last night. I"ts not fun being ill away from home! At least I brought some Neurofen, Tunes and some blackberry drink sachets with me.
Dave, Meryl and I had planned to go to the Natural History Museum today - supposed to have an amazing selection of dinosuar fossils. Think a whole Velocaur Raptor. Will prob go tomorrow instead. Daves going in a week today, which is strange. Also Kents going on Sunday. Our whole little group on 3rd and 4th district (we live very close to each other) will be gone really. Only me and Meryl left. I hope some more volunteers arrive soon to live near us. Speaking of new volunteers..
We met Victoria and Rachgel yesterday, after Tugi was half an hr late, again! Starting to get fed up of 'Mongolian time' excuse! So anyway, theyre both doing a medical placement at the hospital. Theyve both just graduated from Nottingham Uni, doing medicine. They are going to Beijing about the same time as me, I think they said they arrive on the 6th May. Same as me, but theyre flying. Theyre also doing a like 3 week tour, working their way down to Hong Kong, like me! We've werked out though that it isnt the same tour! So yeh, I think Ill be in Hong Kong the same time as them, at the end of May.
We went to Millies yesterday, a nice cafe in the centre of town, near the Buddhist Monastry museums. Was really nice to have a hot chocolate! They also do a lot of English foods, like sandwiches (they are practiaclly non existant here and in Russia!) and quiche. We also went to the Buddhist centre in town, where theres like a very mini library system there wioth English books. Very small selection, but better than nothing. The centre puts on English movies every Fiday night at 6pmn, for free which is worth remembering! Near there is a second hand book shop, that Dave and I wanted to look in, but was closed. Maybe go there tomorrow.
Oh yeh theres also a cafe in the Buddhist centre, which seemed really lovely. Very relaxing. Will have to go there sometime.
Some more volunteers are arriving on Friday, so we'll met them on our Saturday trip to Terelj National Park. Canrt wait to go there. Love weekends!!!!!!!!!
So thats it for now really.
The photo is there as Ive spent most of my day so far in my room.
Poor me.
