Today started off well, A fried breakfast (seeing a pattern here) and then headded out to the bike. The hotel had been very kind and put the bike in the cellar for me which was nice so i knew it was safe.
Leaving Helmsdale i was straight into a hill... however this didn't feel tough at all. i focused on my cadance and this kept me powering up the hills nice and easily. Well i say easily... maybe that is the wrong word...
After losing track of time looking at the scenery i realised i was already 25 miles in and it wasn't even lunch time!! this was a very good day... especially compaired with yesterday and it's nightmare hills. The weather was nice and warm, slight tail wind but reasonably pleasent :)
About 3 miles short of my finish at Dingwall something in my knee whent ping... a shot of pain through my knee and up the joint stopped me in my tracks. i had to pull over and try to stretch it out. it was crazy the ammount of pain... sadly it didn't matter if i put weight on it or just relaxed as it went round on the peddle it hurt regardless.
I decided to take two 'man up' pills with a pint of 'get on with it.' Made it into Dingwall and after some painkillers and some ibuprufen gel i decided a pub dinner and bed was in order :)
Time to rest up before a long day tomorrow... :-/
