Wow - after a 10 hour flight sat next to a guy in his 40s making his first ever flight I finally landed in Mexico City.
Well despite it being in the middle of the hurricane season and raining pretty non stop - still love the city. The first day was spent eating - EVERYTHING. The great love of the city is its food and you can get food pretty much anywhere. On the bus, outside the metro, outside your appartment! Where there are people there are food vendors. This is Mexico City so there are people everywhere!
The first delicacies were Gorditas ( pork inside of a deep fried totilla) on the night I landed. The next day - Pezole for breakfeast (it is a soup of chicken and huge pearl barleys) - in keeping with tradition all food must represent the mexicn flag. So you put in lettuce (green), Radishes (Red) and onions (white). And well as I was feeling reckless also Arben chilli (second hottest chilli in the world!). Churros and beer for lunch and bambaso for dinner (Kind of a fried sandwich with sour cream, green salsa, chicken and cabbage).
Today we go quad biking in the forrest, then in the evening we go to see Lucha Libres (ROCK ON!)
Oh in a flingback to my holiday in Feb I can happily revive:
BEANWATCH - 1.5 days into holiday and still no refired beans. I am getting off lightly!
Well next blog soon -
Adios muchachos
