Woke up around 12pm and felt a load better today. I think the last 7 days of going to bed around 3am each morning took its toll and having a 5 hour sleep on Thursday night and another 7-and-a-half hour sleep on Friday morning did me a world of wonders.
I was treated to porridge for breakfast, which is boiled rice in water, and then separately meat and vegetables. It was a really yummy way to start the day.
I took a quick shower before we dashed out the door to head into Kuala Lumpur to see/visit the Petronas Towers.
Unfortunately it started raining, not too heavily, but not a good thing as I am really keen to have my photo taken with the Petronas Towers behind me ... Here's hoping the rain let's up soon ;-)
So the rain eventually let up and we were able to visit the Petronas Towers and wander around the 5 storey mall.
Got a chance to take photos and have my photo taken outside the towers. An amazing site to behold when it's your first time visiting ...
I'm told I need to be at the towers by 7am in order to walk along be flyway connecting them ... Hope to be able to do that before I leave to return to London.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a Chili's restaurant on the premises, haven't been to one of those since I lived in Florida, USA in 2000/2001!
We had lunch at a restaurant called "Ben's". I opted to share a high tea with a friend and was treated to Salmon and Cucumber Sandwiches, Egg Mayonnaise and Chicken Mayonnaise Sandwiches, Scones with Preserves, a jam tartlet, a couple of chocolate chip and nut cookies, chocolate truffles, passionate fruit marshmallows and a really large slice of Red Velvet Cake, all served with two pots of tea!
In Pound Sterling this only cost £10! What a bargain!!!!
After, we explored the mall and I wandered through a massive bookstore. Unfortunately the prices weren't as nearly as cheap as the bookstore I went to on Thursday, but I was impressed by the massive range of books they carried.
We eventually headed home to pack an prepare for our flight to Bangkok at 6am on Saturday, 4 February.
Can't wait to land in Bangkok and start exploring, seems like we'll be hitting the ground running!
I hope to be able to update you about my adventures in Thailand while I'm there until Tuesday, 7 February, but this would relay heavily on whether or not I can access wi-fi on my phone.
If not, I'll update my musings once I return to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
Take care!
Ciao,
Michael
