This last week has been fairly relaxing.
I have enjoyed a wonderful back massage in Kiyora Spa. I tell you, the woman had miracle hands and afterwards I felt as though I could do gymnastics!! Well, maybe not!!
I went to Archers Pub and Restaurant (English owned) and wangled my way onto a team as it was a quiz night that evening. I really only went to order their famous bangers and mash not realising they had a pub quiz on. I met a lady called Louise and two guys called Graham and Craig and suggested forming a team - so we did!!
We decided to call ourselves 'sausages' after my wonderful dinner and we did quite well- we came third. (Actually, there were only five teams though!!!)
The pub had a dog that wandered around, a huge mastiff called Mary. I was a little bit wary at first but she was a huge softie.
The next night I went along to The Old City Inn where I devoured a huge TBone steak which was enormous and tasty!!
I also enjoyed a cruise on a Scorpion Long Tail Boat which took myself and only two other passengers down the River Ping. He was a great guide and was very comical. Part of the trip was to stop off at his house along the river to show us the plants and herbs he was growing and to give us refreshments of sticky rice and mango (very popular here in Thailand!)
Been shopping quite a lot too at the night market and walking markets. I've got quite good at bartering and I've learned that if you do it with a joke and a smile and also throw in some Thai words you can normally get a good deal!! The end of a good and relaxing week.
