This place is nice. Tidy, clean and with some good restaurants. So obviously it's full of westerners! I hate westerners abroad, it's not their fault but I just don't want to mix with them when I'm in India. I'm looking to get to know the locals, not a german couple who think not having wifi is roughing it! Also there are so many tours and excursions tailored for westerners that are a real waste of time. We did one spending a day in a boat and house boat around the backwaters. What a boring waste of time, but the other people on the trip loved it!
We did however have a fantastic cooking lesson with the wonderful Maria and George. She really knows her stuff. Tilly got so excited we had to go and buy a load of specific pans and get them sent back to the UK.
And if You could ignore the disgusting behaviour by the westerners, a kathakaey ( traditional theatre) play in kerola is well worth it.
