Since our last real blog we headed north and up from Periche to Lobuche, then a place called Gorak Shep. From Gorak we trekked up to the base camp of Mount Everest.
The following morning, as if we hadn't done enough we got up at 4am and climbed Kala Patthar which is 5550m (18208 ft) to watch the sunrise over Everest and the surrounding peaks.
After breakfast we started our descent to Dingboche in heavy snow, the trek took several hours. Today we have again continued to descend for another 6 hours back to Namche. We are now in two short days 2 vertical km's lower than we were in Kala Patthar and both breathing with ease again.
Tomorrow we will trek to Lukla and hope to catch a flight back to Kathmandu where we'll upload the rest of the photos.
Right now though after 10 days without a beer we are going to put that right!
