We have the bike for a few days and so the plan is to go somewhere else today. For breakfast I have the beef bacon instead, it turns out to be a much better choice. We decide to head to Ubud, which is in the centre of Bali, because there are a number of interesting things nearby that we can check out.

The road to Ubud was much better than the road yesterday, we had a good highway with 2 or 3 lanes on either side, so it was not so stressful and we were able to make good time. Ubud is a much nicer place than Kuta, very laid back. We stop to get some lunch, and the food was great. What has been a common theme when I have been travelling with Miao, is that I am much better at picking something to eat. I always pick something better than she does off the menu, and this really annoys her, so I just laugh. After lunch we drive around the town and stop at the plethora of guest houses and homestays to find somewhere for tonight. The joys of having a Moto, how do I live without one? Every time I get back on one I just remember how much I love it. We end up getting this place with a really nice view and breakfast included for a cheap price, so I park the bike up and we check in. Miao goes out for a dander and I do some blog work with my epic view out over some rice fields. It's nice to get a bit of chill time to myself, though I am not as productive as I would have liked, getting distracted. Probably due to the hard wooden seat that I am sitting on.

Miao returns and we head out for dinner. Everywhere is closed, the place is a complete ghost town and the places that are open have no one inside. Miao had picked out this restaurant that she wanted to go to, but when we got there we would be the only people there. Not really the atmosphere that we were looking for. It is interesting how Miao likes to travel with a guide and go and see what it says. I like to just go with the flow and explore things as I come across them. I wasn't always like this, but now it is just about being here, not necessarily seeing or doing anything in particular. After walking round town for a bit we come to a section that has a bit more life about the place. We sit down to eat at a mexican restaurant where there is some live musician playing. Much better than the deserted place from earlier. The food is good, although the portions are a little on the small side. We head back to the homestay, having to be careful along the pavement because it is so uneven. Another movie and then bed.
