Today we woke up, had our final breakfast at the hotel, finished packing up, and checked out. We transitioned to the Rhine River ship Monarch Baroness. We were both surprised to see so very many ships all lined up on the river, and when we entered our cruise ship, we walked through a Viking cruise ship to get to our Gate 1 cruise ship. Since this is only our second river cruise ever, the first being down the Yangtze River in China, we are looking forward to seeing what life is like on one of these comparatively tiny ships. The paperwork for the Baroness didn't have a boarding time listed as most passengers were flying in from the US to arrive today, so we sat in the lounge until check in was possible. Once we were able to enter our state room, I was able to take a picture from our French balcony: this is a picture on the other side of the central station from where we have been. Our stateroom was smaller than our oceangoing cabins so we spent some time figuring out what to do with our belongings and suitcases.. then we were served an amazingly good dinner! The only problem I can foresee is the early start of tours (8:15!) with shower, dress, and breakfast beforehand! Ugh!!
