Day dawned cloudless, sunny and hot...the perfect day for Parc du Disney, for Tom's birthday. Got there nice and early and a park near the entrance. Then the floodgates opened and ten thousand others arrived by bus, train and campervan! Anyway, into the queue for tickets (the first of many), before queuing to enter.
Straight into the queue for the train, which we eventually boarded and took to Discoveryland. Queues not too long really so straight into Space Mountain, Tom's first big coaster ride! In the after-photo, he looks pretty terrified. Ian actually managed to keep his eyes open this time! Then a simulator ride to Endor before assisting Buzz Lightyear shoot Zardon with our lazers.
Fast-pass system seems better this time so we got them for all of the big rides, scheduling them in for the later part of the day. Lunch was hot and stuffy inside, but OK. Something a bit more subdued at It's A Small World, then photo's with The Mouse. No daytime parade anymore.
At least the queue for Pirates of the Carribean was in the shade and the ride was 'cooling'. At about 5:30, while a parade was on, we got onto Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril...white knuckles for Tom this time, but we all enjoyed the ride.....360 loops and bends into empty space....awesome!
Fast-pass ride scheduling was a bit tight, so straight to Peter Pan's Flight.....a lot less traumatic, subdued flight over London and Neverland. Bit of time before the next ride so did Ian's pace and went on the tea-cups (don't trust Sally's driving though), carousel and a bit of dinner.
Last ride at 7:30 was Thunder Mountain......lots of screaming but still a great ride. A final breath-catching in Phantom Manor before heading to Main Street for the evening parade. More of a show than a parade this time....guess they've changed things around a bit for their 15th birthday. And finally, the closing fireworks. A damn long 15 hour day, so off to bed for dreams and nightmares!
