Weather still fine and sunny so off to Versailles today. It took us an hour to go 10 kilometres! Unfortunately, there was some big political thing on and the palace was closed! Just our luck. Never mind, had a good look from the outside, avoiding all of the hundreds of police and gendarmarie swarming everywhere.Got to get inside the Versaille Cathedral before it closed at noon though.
Decided to drive into Paris and catch a few of the sights........that was fun! Took a few years off Ian's life but the GPS sure helped. Parked under Notre Dame but the queues were too long to go inside, so headed off for a walk. Stopped for lunch at a back-street bistro near St. Michael, then along the Seine, over the Pont Nuef. It doesn't really live up to it's name of The New Bridge given that it's 400 years old, which also makes it the oldest of the 37 bridges crossing the Seine. Back to Notre Dame to collect the car and back to the hotel, which was much quicker.
