oops, i seem to have forgotten to write for a while! Really sorry, thailand has captured me!!
its been pretty busy busy and alot different to what i thought. its a very mixed up culture with alot of western styles and not as much "asia" as i thought..you really have to hunt it out. ive spent the last couple weeks around CHiang Mai visitng the infamous Golden Triangle...hmmm, not sure about that, but the boat trip was pretty cool. i think they should have put big signs on the land saying which country was which, i got very confused!
Ive also been on a good fun 3day trek, getting to ride on the neck of elephants, experience bamboo rafting, and drink with the local hill trbies, aswell as see mahoosive spiders and walk some big hills. it was definitly good fun and the group i went with were good fun.
what else have i seen...
lots and lots and lots of temples...some absolutely gorgeous, others particularly average but all the same, i think my photos are getting a little boring with only temples.
i went and saw some tigers up in Chiang mai, they were absolutely amazing and i managed to play and cuddle them, then in the cage next to me the tigers decided to have a great fight. kinda put it in perspective of what id just been hugging :-/. I arrived back into Bangkok a couple days ago and found that some friends from New Zealand were also in the area...sooooo, i check into my Geust house and walk down the famous Khosahn road and who should i bump into...it was them. there were lots of girly screams, hugs and "we have so much to catch up on". it was great to see them again after about 4months i think and also great to see some familiar faces.
oh yeah, ive hired a few scooters here and there and wow their great fun...not managed to fall of yet. But i have wondered why so few of us in England use them...sooo much fun and really really cheap here. 2GBP for 24hours!! including insurance. a good way to get out of the city for a while and see some of the less touristy areas of thailand.
tonight i have a night bus to Krabi on the West coast. Night buses here are pretty crazy. They are super super super cold!! its like walking into a fridge. its a pretty good ride, not as bumpy as i thought it would be and the last one i went on had bright pink blankets! i tried to make a joke to a japanese guy next to me about how pink suited him...he had no idea what i said! a joke lost.
all is good out here, its great being in the heat. ive not met as many people as i thought here but maybe south thailand will hold a little more hope...im expecting western people galore. not too sure if thats what i want or not :-/.
still its great being out here and theres still the full moon party in 10days time. am definitly looking forward to that, and seeing some great seaside scenery...better than western super mare!
see you all soon xxx
