well ive made it to the islands! there not too shabby ill admit it. its alot busier than i thought, especially for low season. Yesterday i met up with another work buddy from new zealand. was great to hang out with her for a little. we plan to meet again on ko phangan in a couple days, whilst she heads to Phi phi island.
ive been in krabi for about the last week chilling out and not doing alot. Im a massive fan of krabi and the surrounding area. its not quite as full of westerners as the islands. they have some great food here, its cheaper than other places and of course the beaches are no where near as crowded. i stayed a gorgeous little guesthouse that was very beack like (whites and blues) even though krabi is actually set on a river.
the last few days have consisted of drinking fruit shakes, wandering the street of krabi and taking a walk along the river front. here all the boat men try to sell you their boat trips, showing photos of where they'll take you etc. i found it hilarious because the photos were horrible!! still all in the name of fun. the food makret here is amazing too, ive tries lots of different random fruits that i dont even know the name of and soon enough the little man that cooked my pad thai every night became accustomed to me being there every night. he saw me coming every time! everyone is very friendly here, their all saying hello from their shops...and not necessarily trying to sell you their products.
went to the best beach so far a couple days ago and although i havent done any sunbathing it would have been the perfect one for bathing...there was hardly anyone there and again the thai people were lovely! ended up talking to a thai woman for a good hour about random stuff and of course she tried to teach me a little thai!...ive kinda forgotten it now! :-/.
i did a visa run to renew my visa a couple days ago and must have been one of the funniest/strangest days for a long time. a 4hour bus journey to the border in the middle of nowhere. get the stamp in the passport out of thailand and walk across nomans land to malaysia, fill in the form to enter malaysia and they give you a stamp. then walk round the building to the other side to enter into thailand again, they stamp you out of the country walk back over no mans land into thailand and they give you another stamp...then hop back in the bus for a nice 4hr journey back to krabi again. the 2others i went with were pretty cool and we all found it the funniest thing...the looks the little thai/malaysians gave us were definitly worth a photo...shame i didnt have my camera. was an unproductive yet productive day!
im off to ko samui today to sit of a beach and sort the tan out before heading to inland malaysia in a weeks time. the full moon party is coming up soon and nearly everyone im meeting is heading there.
i belive thats all for now. happy birthday to you world...we can party together when i get back! woopppp.
not too long to go now. thinking and missing you all xxxx
