this will probably be my last blogs entry now whilst im away...ive finally made it to singapore in time for my flight on tuesday night. i arrived bright and early wednesday morning!!!!! Its a very strange feeling to be coming home. All the people im meeting are wondering how i will cope back home...im sure it will be easy...but it wont stop me from planning a potential other trip to somewhere new...will have to earn some money first before that happens tho.
So since the last blog what have i been doing?? errrrrr....
not so much, doing some great sightseeing and alot of time spent on buses. I had a great (NOT!) journey from ko phangan all the way down to Kuala Lumpar. The day started at 5.30am to get a taxi to the boat that would take us to the mainland. We changed boats at Ko Samui and had a rough ride (oh btw the weather really hasnt been that good for about a week now therefore water = super rough!) back over the water. once we got there we were shephered onto coaches to take us to the main bus termina aka a random corrugated iron building with some beat up mini buses outside.
from there i missed the mini bus to take me to another bus (soooo not my fault :-/) and they had to call it back to collect me. that minibus journey was the funniest/hellest/cramped/smelly journey ever. i was sat in the front in the middle next to the driver with the gear stick on my leg with another smelly thai man (not the smallest of people) on the other side. the driver started teahing me thai but when i couldnt remember what he taught me he was not impressed...the brain wasnt working so well after little sleep. eveyone in the back was also super cramped and after hanging out with some of them after we all looked back and laughed. we got to malaysia (but the wrong city) and got shephered to antoher bus...not quite so cramped this time which took us to Kuala Lumpar. we arrived eventually at 2.30am dumped in we had no idea where and with no clue as to if a hotel would be near. i wasny by myself tho, i met 3 lovely irish and we ended up spending the next 3days together. we found a hotel right in the middle of china town...not to be mistaken with rat/cockroach ville. when we arrived the streets were dead...go to sleep and wake up again for middayish and the street is a completely different place, sooooo many people.
i had a great time in kuala lumpar, the twin towers are absolutely spectacular. i loved them and even tjhough i didnt go up them, i think they would have been sooo much better from the bottom anyway. we went up the KL tower aswell and had a great view of KL. through all the smog, and i then used my map reading skills to see some sights. i was the unoffical tour guide of the day...we walked MILES!!!
we met the tallest guy ever too...an aussie copper from perth who was 6ft 8, who ended up hanging out with us too. it was a very laid back stay, and the irish can ddefinitly drink...i think i became noctournal for those 3days!
i then went onto Meleka for one night, saw the so called famous jonker road night market (i had never heard of it before!) and met an italian and american. spent the evening together and then had to get up early the next morning for a bus to singapore.
its been a busy few days and ive most feinitly not been bored. im spending my last few dollars now in singapore before i come home...and trying to see a bit of sun. i dont think there is any here anymore! just humidity and head...im fat from complaining though...its loverly!
its been an amazing 9months away... plans have changed changed and changed again, but ive finally found my second to last destination. ive met friends for life and realised how much i love friends and family back home too (not that i didnt love you before i went away!). i think ive got a couple of stories to tell...im sure i wont be boring you wirh them all, but maybe just a couple! :-D
ill ctach up with you hopefully face to face next time rather than a blog and facebook! woooooo.
