HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, life is all good here in good old Queenstown.
Starbucks is going amasingly well, ive been kinda promoted already and ive only been there 3 weeks!! i will be supervising in the mornings and ipening the shop whilst the main manager is away which is pretty exciting, although it does mean some early morning rises (5.30!!). The weather has taken till today to brighten up, it has been real overcast and rainy for the last week but today is super hot and for the first time its been cooler inside rather than out!
ive not done too much other than working and chilling with some starbucks friends. im still on the hunt for a new house, im off to look at a couple this afternoon, one is nearer town than where i am at the moment and the other is a few doors down from where i am at the moment although there are more people in the house...aswell as a puppy :-D
i had a good new years...i worked for the evening then my boss brought in a massive magnum bottle of nice champagne. we sat out the window drinking and watching the fireworks. i met up with some friends i met when i frst got to queenstown and had a real lovely new years eve...and no it didnt involve tonnes of alcohol! i think all the working has reduced my alcohol tolerance, a couple of glasses will keep me going for a lonnnng time!
i had my first day off in ages on monday. i hung out with some friends from starbucks...we had the idea to try and hitch to dundein...a 5hour drive from queenstown. we managed to get to frankton (10min drive near the airport) and then couldnt get a ride. after walking to the airport and fiding there were no hire cars (or flights) zavaiable we decided to give up and find some fun things to do in queenstwon...yes we found a 3person bike (tandem style) and managed tocause havoc on the streets of queenstown. we had the bike for 1 hour in which time we had gone up many one way streets the wrong way, swerved our way up the pedestrainised area yelling for eveyone to get out the way as we had hardly any control of the bike and chilled atching a street magician to recover. was definetely a memorable moment in queenstown days
im trying to organise my flights and days of leaving queenstown as sad as it is to think of it. my current flight out of new zealand is 7th march which is wayyy too soon so am trying to work out how much time i need to travel ther est of the world with the funds i have! not to worry claire i will be back for the wedding no panics!
i hope you all had lovely christmases and new years, i keep hearing how cold it is in the uk with freezing roads, snow and temperatures of below zero...im here in shorts and tshirt mmmmmmmm THE SUN!!
lovely to hear from you guys and ill be in touch soon xxxxxxxx
