An interesting nights sleep on the wooden floor. There was lots of sounds, crickets, dogs, roosters, snoring and some local music. Thank god for earplugs!
We leave our homestay after breakfast in our mini bus and head to Siem Reap. It will take about 3-4hours. The road from the homestay backup Kampong Thom has many villagers, kids going to school and people going about their day to day business. It's always interesting to see what the people can manage to get on on motorbike; from a bunch of chickens or a pig to a large load of goods.
We stop at an ancient bridge to get a photo op then it's back in the bus, so keen to get to Siem Reap. We arrive around lunch and check into the hotel which is simple but the bonus is that it has a beautiful pool!
We head out to get lunch and explore a bit if the city. Lunch is in the aptly named Pub Street with a traditional Khmer curry, yum! I notice the nearby "Angkor What?" Bar and will definately be back there later!
Paap and I ditch the city tour to hit a day spa called Bodhi. It was 2hrs of well deserved bliss! A full body oil massage and pedicure, we are already exhausted due to last nights poor sleep so afterwards we ate a bit zonked out. We head back to the hotel and survey the pool with a beer with the other girls.
Soon enough it's dinner time so we head into town to Temple Bar for dinner and a traditional Aspara dance show. It was lovely show but we didn't stay til the end as I was really tired, so back to the hotel to bed!
