Wow, last night was massive and after not much sleep the alarm goes off at 8am! Ew! Today we are going to Angkor Wat, the biggest temple in the area.

It's a struggle just getting to breakfast imagine walking for a few hours around a temple in 35deg heat!! So a very hungover Emma heads off for today's tour!

We had the option of taking an elephant ride, the wait was going to be too long so we headed for the balloon ride. Some is a little worse for wear so she lies in the bus while a few of us head for the balloon. It's a large helium ballooning a winch which simply goes up then down again taking about 15mins. It gives great views over Angkor Wat but unfortunately the weather is quite hazy so we can't really get a clear view let alone photo!

After this it's time to go back to Angkor Wat and explore the interior. There are so many people everywhere!! Our guide, Preah explains that the temple is around 900 years old with Hindu influence and that the temple was damaged by civil war and also Khmer rouge. Unfortunately, my hangover and the intense heat (think sweating whilst standing still in the shade) results in a shorter attention span than normal and I don't take too much in. But at least I pretend I'm listening. Will need to read a book about it when I get back.

Despite my lack of information i can appreciate the awesomeness of this place. So grand and beautiful it's amazing that this was built so long ago and is still standing. No surprise it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. I would definitely recommend seeing this place and could spend many more days exploring the temples of Angkor.

I'm exhausted now so after everyone comes back we head to the hotel, get lunch and both Paap and I have a snooze and don't wake til 5.30pm!

Paap, Tony and I head into town to have dinner (definitely no more drinks) at a little pizza place I found on the net. It was delish! It was great to reminisce about the trip, ah the memories!!

We then walked around to the night markets and, surprise surprise bought more dvd's! Headed in for an early night and ready to head to Bangkok tomorrow!
