this day amy did the rock and ropes optional. at first i didnt think it was going to be as scary as i thought it would, but i became terrified very quickly when i saw what i had to do. firstly we got split into groups of 4 then was chosen different jumps to do that suited us. well our guide gave us the 3 hardest ones out of all of them. the first one was we had to climb 15metres up a poll then stand on to another poll that went across like a tight rope but this was just a thin wooden poll and we had nothing to hold on to and nothing helping us to get across it. we just had to walk across the poll touch the other end then walk backwards to the middle of the poll then you could jump off and absail down. katie was first, then alice, then drew then my turn. after watching them i became more nervous. i climbed to the top and stood on the poll and my legs started shaking, it seemed like i was so high up. the hardest part was going backwards as you couldnt see where you was going and had to be very good at balancing. after i did that i was excited to do the others. then after i saw what i had to do next i started to get even more scared.
the second one we had to climb an even higher poll and actually pull our sens on the stand on the top of the poll which was probably about half a metre width. then we had to jump off it and grab a trapize which was about a metre and half in front of us. this was so hard and so scary. as i pulled my feet on it, the poll started rocking making me even more nervous. all i kept thinking was that i could do it. anyway i got my courage up, i just did a countdown 3,2,1 then i jumped and i actually caught it. i felt so proud as we was the first group on this so everyone stopped to look and after they'd seen us do it, everyone else wanted do. what made even better was that half the group missed the grab and just fell. i think letting go of the trapize was hard as the man just let you free fall to the ground which was scary and put me off sky diving alittle.
the last one we did was a swing, which was one of the worst things there. it was about 20 metres in the air, you had a harnest attached to you and you just jump off to the ground then the rope will kick in and you swing up to 20 metres again and fall again. you must swing from that height for about 2minutes. and i was proper bricking it. plus us lasses was showing all the men how its ment to be done, and i was there shaking. but i did it, and was one of the best things i did on the north island. i'll very put a video up of it.
Laura and Emma had a pretty tame day in taupo - we headed to the shops and had a nice walk near the lake. we got some lunch and got back on the coach where we went to watch people bungy jump. it was really nice where it was set and laura wished she had done it...so watch out for laura's bungy in oz. def over water tho!!
after that we have dinner, which to everyones suprise was a burger (im proper getting fed up of these now) then was back on the couch again.
