if you look in the picture for this blog, this is where we could potentially be working. we got on our 6.55am flight to Adelaide to stay at Alices house, who'd we meet on our NZ tour. she was kindly going to put us up for afew days or weeks depending on the job situation. we arrived at the airport and went to pick up our car that we had rented for a few days. when we saw it, it was like a yellow granny mobile. it was funny watching us all try to put the hundreds of bags we'd managed to pick up in the littlest car i'd driven (except my mini cos that is quite small). i had a quick spin around the car park to get use to it and we set off to find alices house. I was the designated driver, emma was the map reader and laura just sat and enjoyed the ride and every now and then she'd shout the speed limit at me. this worked quite well as we made it to alices in 10 minutes and never got lost once, i drove quite well except that the indicates are the on the opposite side to what we have a home but i soon got use to that.
we arrived at somerton park at alices house and she was there to greet us and show us to our little apartment. we walked in and it was amazing, none of us was excepting it to be as nice as it was, we was well chuffed alice had offered to take us in. plus it was air conditioned. alice left cos she had to work, so we went for a wonder round and came back for a sleep, as that night alice had invited us to a charity night at the surf club where she worked. so after food, we got ready and headed down. we just caught the end of the sun set aswell and that was quite nice. we arrived at the surf club to find a drunk alice. but she was still in the party spirit so we had some catching up to do. she introduced to her friends and was getting us cheap drinks all night. but it got to 10:45pm and alice had to go home because she was too drunk to carry on. but we decided to stay and have a night out. we went to a place called the grand, which is the ecquilent of scandles back home in chapeltown. we didnt make it a big night and headded home pretty early. but emma and laura had something to eat which stunk of garlic loads - it wasnt nice for me as i was sharing a room with them.
the next day we drove to a beach that was in a place called sea cliff just off brighton road. we stayed there most of the afternoon, emma got stung by a jelly fish and i told her she had to wee on it but she wouldnt. then we went for an ice cream and back to where we was staying. that night we did nothing except sat and watch films. the next day we had to be up early because alice was taking us surfing. the place where we was surfing was an hours drive away. and when we got there the waves were absolutely massive. bigger than we had ever swam in before let alone surf. we had 1 board between us so Amy had first attempt. she was pretty rubbish and nearly drowned- Laura and Emma laughed at her loads ......then it was there turn Laura was the worst as she could not even get on the board to paddle, Alice found this highly amusing after a few failed attempts Laura passed the board to Emma. Emma was alright, however in Amy's mind obviously not as good as her!!! but she was too scared to go out further due to sharks and Jelly fish. After a few hours messin around we headed back and was knackered. the next day Amy could not move due to all her muscles achein. Laura found this very funny and kept pullin her arms...This drove Amy mad by the 3rd day. For the next week or so we did not do very much just visited the beach and attempted to get a tan, the weekend came and Alice told us to come out so we got ready and headed to the surf club to watch the sun set and have a few beers. now anyone that knows me and Amy well will no that we cannot have a few beers.......we headed into adelaide with Alice and showed her how to drink english style. after 1 or 10 beers laura discovered bright red lipstick in her handbag (you have all prob seen these photos) it got to 1 o'clock and Alice was too drunk and ready for home soo bein the money conscious people we went home, to our surprise when we got home Emma became ALOT drunker than me and Amy and much to our amusment tried to eat bread in the most lady like mannner. After about an hour we managed to get her to bed. The next day Emma was not hungover annoyingly but Amy was so we had a long lie in, a few hours on the beach and Alice dragged us out again(kickin and screamin as you can imagine) but it was not goin to be a big night as we had to save our money and we felt a little tender. Due to Alice workin at the surf club, we all got really cheap drinks, this did not act in our favour as once more 1 or 2 drinks ended up to be far more. emma started off well drinkin her 1st drink really slowly but then Laura had a great idea. "to save money we should share a bottle of wine" well laura did not like it and amy was not kean so it was left to Emma to finish it. Laura ended the night here and went home with Alice while Amy and Emma parted the night away. Laura was rudly awaken but 4 phone calls of them singing and finally a very drunk Amy saying Emma was very drunk....now we have promised emma not to disclose any information of this night but the pictures speack for them selfs. 15min drive 3 taxi's, a sick bucket and a roll of toilet tissue later emma finally made it to bed and had the worst hangover to prove it. After an alcohol fuelled weekend we descided to stay sorber for a while and Laura and Amy managed one day before havin a swift half. The rest of the week was filled with the beach, sleep and many films. Alice took us surfin again, only this time we only lasted an hour as it was pretty cold..... please join us next time for the next installement of Amy, Emma and Laura go travelling.- comments
