Well we have had a fantastic time in Kanchanaburi. First off we went to Erawan waterfall, this is a 7 tiered waterfall where you can climb up all 7 stages, there are pools at the bottom of each tier where you can go swimming, although you can't keep your feet on the rocks for too long as the fish like to have a little nibble, very weird sensation!!! Carlos made it to the 7th but fell slightly on the way down as it's very steep, you should of seen the bruising and swelling on his finger, HUGE We stayed for lunch here where they do the best BBQ chicken, then we went onto the death railway. It was quite sad when you think of the amount of people that died building it, but it's a part of history and we're glad that we did it. Then we went to the RIver Kwai bridge, loads of Japenese tourist's here, we were just itching to push one in, but we didn't, it was quite scary walking across as there we too many people on and too many places where you could fall through, it was quite a long drop down to the river!
We also went elephant treking, not the most comfortable way to travel but fun all the same, we bought our elephant a bag of bananas as a treat at the end. Carlos went into the river with them, they kneel down and you are given a brush and some soap so you can scrub their head, one of the highlights of the trip.
Next we did the tiger temple, you get to go into the tiger enclosure where you have your photo taken with them and stroke them, very nerve racking but amazing, I had to sit on a rock next to one, luckily it had just eaten so he wasn't hungry! We almost didn't get to go in as on the way it was torrential rain but thankfully it cleared up.
We found the best bar in Kanchanaburi called the Budda Bar, it's just full of cushions and games, the owner is called Fan and the coolest person you could meet, we're really going to miss him.
That's everything for now, we're on the move tomorrow heading slowly up North to Chang Mai, we'll put some photos on when we find a faster internet connection place.
Lots of Love,
Emma & Carlos xxxxx
