Dear all,
Sorry we've been a bit lax lately but people to see and adventures to be had. From Cambodia we went back to Bangkok where we went to have a look around the palace. What an amazing place, talk about bling, entire buildings made completely of gold. Walking round we saw the guards on duty, obviously one had had a heavy night as he was asleep standing on his platform!
Ummmm what else happened while we were in Bangkok, of course there was a military coup, we didn't actually see anything but we heard that the soliders were having their photos taken outside their tanks with the tourists.
From Bangkok we caught the night bus and headed south to Koh Samui where we stayed for a week. It was nice to feel normal here as we stayed at a resort complete with a swimming pool, heaven although we has to go back to our shack at night while the other guests went back to their deluxe bungalows, oh well you can't have it all. We hired a bike for most of our time there and explored most of the Island, as always ended up at their waterfall. We got caught out in the rain one night without our macs, we were soaked, a puddle had formed in my hands where i was holding onto Carlos, you'd be surprised how much rain can hurt, it was the 2nd night we had arrived back soaked, we had to walk along the beach to get back to our resort and couldn't be bothered so we decided to swim back, 3o'clock in the morning!!!!!
From Samui we went to Koh Phangan, home of the Full Moon Parties. We stayed in bungalows right on the beach where the full moon was to be, needless to say not alot of sleep was to be had. Most days were spent hungover chilling on the sofas in a place called the Lazy House watching films and eating the best apple crumble and ice cream or in a bar watching re-runs of friends, what more could you ask for?? Most nights were spent in training for the full moon drinking buckets, for those of you who don't know what they are, it's a bucket filled with half a bottle of Sangsom (Thai whiskey) redbull and coke, it's a cheap way to drink!!! We had to most amazing balcony which was right next to the bar of where we were staying, we befriended the Thai workers here and tried to get a pulley system rigged up where they could send us over drinks and we could send the money back, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. We were in the bar one night playing pool when this guy walks over saying his name is Champ as he is the pool Champ of Bangkok, funny thing was he only had a T-Shirt on so we were unsure as to whether he had any pants on, anyway he and Carlos had a game of pool, I'm sitting at the side watching when he bends over to take his shot right near me, I said to Carlos please let him be wearing pants, thankfully he was wearing a rather fetching pair of speedos!!!! As most of you know Carlos took his records over as he wanted to get a chance to play at Koh Phangan and he did, he was on the decks twice, well done Carlos.
The full moon was great, we had such a great time, the sunrise was one of the highlights of our trip and definately something we'll treasure. We were one of the oldest there and we were still dancing around at 8 in the morning trying not to step on the young ones who fell asleep around 2!!
Off to Phuket next.
Take Care,
Love Emma & Carlos xxxx
PS Carole I promise you won't have to wait for the next postcard quite as long.
