Checklist:
Hair cut
I've been worried about using a Chinese hairdressers incase it goes wrong. With long hair you can atleast manage to hide the mistakes but with short, well you have to walk around with with what you got! But then I'd prefer to say my hair looked bad due to a hairdresser and not my own stupidity of using my first aid scissors!
I placed my bag on the 'hairy' floor, took off my scarf and jacket, placing them on my lap and showed with many actions I wanted the back shorter and sides thinner. Nervously sat under a lepoard skin hairdressing 'wrap' I watched as he went to work... Final results, yeah not too bad, a good tidy up. I breathed a sigh of relief!
I know not every lesson is going to be fun or perfect but I was just gutted that today it was Elephant class. A class that had myself and them had worked hard to create a decent environment to teach in. I had Jackie pulling Leo's chair from underneath him, Daniel randomly standing up punching his chest and roaring, it was everything along those lines, everything they used to be! Luckily they were my last lesson, so I could use all my energy on them, I was exhausted come 8pm.
Walking back home, I went into the Muslim Resturant. I planned some games and thought of some disciplinary rules using the basis of deducting stamps from individuals, as my noodles and vegetables were prepared. Upon paying I gave the mother 20Yuan and she said no. This time there was no hand cream, she just wasn't letting me pay! I couldn't believe it, she's so kind to me! I do wonder if she sees me as a kind of foreign 'daughter' I don't mind, she means alot to me. Luckily delving into my purse I had some loose change and was able to give the correct amount but still she tried pushing it back. Smiling I looked at the wall refusing to allow her to give me my money back, she laughed, we thanked eachother and I left. Sarah (a TA) said she'd come for some food one day so she could translate between us both, I'd like that.
