Bought delicious, big Strawberries
Moved rooms
Birds flutter past the window as I watch from the bed. I have finally moved rooms!
The first room had a small window, requiring you to stand to look out. But in this room you can see the sky, the sun rising, the stars twinkling, as I look out to the South.
The bedroom and bathroom are so much bigger, no worries about hitting my leg on the corner of the bed, or squeezing myself between the sink and shower door. It's so much more comfortable, it's so much more mine!
Cakes, breads, biscuits, I was looking for something to go with my fruit salad at breakfast. A box at the bottom contained something that had been vacume packed. I startled picking it up. Mmm something for breakfast.. A chicken foot! I'm not really a screamish person, but this foot freaked me out! I asked Lisa about it at school, more confused that they were placed them amongst cakes. She and her husband love them as they're really spicy.
I bought 2, a red and a white one. Does the colour change the spiceyness?
I'm taking them into school tomorrow to try and Lisa is bringing in hers from home.
Some cultures think certain things are lucky or unlucky. Some people think a rabbits foot is lucky etc, but this chicken foot, bent and wrinkly looks like it could be an unlucky thing for someone, for me?! I've actually hidden it in a carrier bag in the kitchen. I'm not looking foward to trying it tomorrow!!
Today; My first, full working Saturday and it went pretty well. The day went fast too, which I was very pleased about!
My first lesson was at 9am, with the 4th finishing at 12 allowing us to have some lunch. We continued at 1pm, finishing my 8th lesson at 4:30pm "Yessss" I told Freda with a big smile on my face, "Finished, hurray" She felt exactly the same!
Saturdays are hectic, with so many children in and out, changing lessons, parents stood around.
Sunday will be the same, but atleast I've got something to aim for after, a nice hour long massage! I've booked myself in for an upper body massage, in a beautiful 'shop' I thought it might help my headaches, releaving my neck too as it cramped up in lesson yesterday. Even if it doesn't help, I'm sure it'll be damn good and I always love a massage!
I've been so lazy at the moment catching the bus to and from school. It's just so cold when the suns not out.
The buses look just like any other bus, but obviously the system works differently.
Catching the bus around 11:00am or rush hour in the evening is crazy! The bus pulls into a stop and people flee towards the door at the middle or front as if something bad is coming their way. People pile on, faces squished to the windows, people breathing down your neck but aslong as you're on the bus then it doesn't matter about being comfortable. A lady/man sits by the middle doors and you pay her your 1Yuan or scan you travel card. When it's busy she shouts amongst everyone, what I think is something like "Who needs to pay? You need to pay!" People pass along eachothers money/cards above their heads to her. She is also in control of opening the doors and pressing a button to let the driver know when someone wants to get off.
A plus about using the buses, aslong as you are standing on the correct side of the road (something I get confused about) to get anywhere it's 1Yuan, of course unless you're on the wrong side of the road and end up having to pay for the trip back on yourself! This although hasn't happened to me yet, but I could see it doing so when I go to Shanghai and don't have directions from teachers at school!
Cucumber flavoured crisps, very odd. Not really a flavour I'd buy again.
