I am completely exhausted. Yesterday I had a relatively quiet day and planned to go on an Archeobus tour to the catacombes, but they ended up being closed so me and a Brazilian girl calle Renata went on a Roma Christiana tour which was a bit boring actually, and then split off and I went to the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme museum which was really cool and I saw the Diskobolos statue that I studied in Greek Art and Architcture in classics as East (the Roman copy, not the real one obviously). But then I was supre tired so I went back to the hostel at about two and watched the Virgin Suicides online until the other hostel people got home. Then at six an Australian girl called Mel and I walked down to the Piazza della Reppublica and stood in a huge and very pushy crowd for two hours to see Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie because it was the premiere of The Tourist. Despite all the waiting and annoyance, we saw Johnny Depp's whole hand as he waved to the crowd and I got some random Italian girl to take a very distant and blurry photo for me.
So then when we got home we cooked dinner and warmed up a bit and then half of the people in the hostel settled down for a highly appropriate Gladiator watching sesh, which I fell asleep during. When I woke up it was 2am and everyone was gone and I was freezing, so I got up and headed for bed but the bloody door to my room was locked and I didn't have the key and because I didn't want to wake anyone I slept on the floor on a beanbag in the cold and woke up about every half hour.
Today I took th Archeobus on a round trip with three Americans from the hostel, and then left them at the Colosseum while I dashed off to the catacombes which were really interesting and also really freaky because you could see where all the babies and kids had been buried... But there were frescoes and family burial sites and stuff, which was sort of nice.
Then I went and visited the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine again, like I do every day just because I can. The sun was setting at the time, so the photos that I took ae quite nice. Now I'm back at La Controra and we're going to watch Gladiator and play drinking games.
Arrivederci!
