" It's been a long time since I came around.. It's been a long time since I'm back in town.. This time I'm not leaving without yoooou"... Day song of week one, Florida.. Me and Josie have now decided to follow suit and copy Jack & after contiki have a day song each morning to wake us up.. This week.. Lady Gaga- U&I.
Arrived safe and sound after a pretty horrific plane journey.. Our first flight was from LAX to Pheonix, in which I was sat next to a guy from Pheonix who managed to ask for my number and Facebook within the space of half an hour.. Confident or what?! .. Then we had to have a 4ish hour flight to Orlando- a little bit dreadful but luckily we had a spare seat next to ours so we pretty much spooned the whole way...
Arrived at our hotel & needed a sleep as it was 6am.. It feels good to have two double beds for a whole two weeks! Considering we only wanted a nap.. We woke at 1.30pm... Oooopsa daisy! Once we'd woke out of the daze, we visited Ally Pally, Huw and their rents at their hotel.. Ten times nicer than ours! Aled & Josie wanted to go and watch the Wales v England game .. And I was keen ... Until I got there and realised it was football and NOT rugby!! They should know I only do rugby.. Anyway, we sat in Disney's ESPN bar to watch the game before heading down to downtown Disney! ... This offcially took me back to being a 10year old princess, which will be my state for the next two weeks.. I shall answer to the name Princess Lizzy.. And that is all! We wandered around all the shops and the biggest Disney store in the world- officially in heaven!! Then went for a drink in the house of blues.. This cute singer was singing lots of lush songs- so it sold it to me! Florida has alot to offer so far!
Day 2, Orlando Florida means only one thing.. UNIVERSAL STUDIO'S!! Slight lie in until 8am before heading to universal! We were both like children, practically skipping around the park! First stop Shrek 4D.. Fuuuuun times.. 2nd stop the thrill seeking Hollywood ride. When you get on.. You get to choose what music you listen too.. Nothing like a bit of Black Eyed Peas to get you in the mood for vertical drops! However, the second time that we rode it, we both chose Gloria Gaynor's I will survive and sang and danced all the way around (inbetween screaming, of course)! Twister, The Simpsons Ride, Jaws, Disaster Studios and Men in Black all followed suit... My second favourite was definitely The Mummy Ride.. A ride that you expect to be a relatively tame ride was amazing! It was inside, pitch black & full of strobe lights and Mummy's- had my heart pumping! We were both very surprised by the lack of queuing, as the longest queue was 25mins! We also had our photies taken with Alex the lion from Madagascar and Jaws! Josie had hers with The Simpsons & Spongebob but can't say I was too keen..! All in all a fabulous day to start our fortnight in Florida...
We decided to go to bed at about 7.30pm as we knew we had a full day in universal the next day. We watched some Bones and solved some crimes.. However this was not good enough.. I was getting really agitated as was Josie.. So at 11.30pm decided to go out.. We got ready in ten minutes, called a cab and asked him to take us to a bar that was open until 2am! Turned out universal is two minutes from our hotel and there's loads of bars.. We went to an Irish bar and a Karaoke bar.. A bit more exciting than sitting in bed!
Day 3, 8am.. We made our own way to universal islands of adventures. First stop was Harry Potter land.. Josie dragged me around, teaching me all about Harry. Borrrrrring! We went in a wand shop and the wizard picked a gay guy out of the audience to choose his wand.. Really? His first question was "is this your first wand?" .. Well that had me going! I was in giggles from start to finish.. Atleast it brightened up boring Harry potter land! Then we went on a Harry potter simulator... And it only went and made me cry!! It was the most horrifying experience of my lifetime! Harry potter should come with a horror warning! I was shaking coming off.. Did not enjoy one bit! We then went on Dualing Dragons, Spiderman, Men in Black, 3 waterless and to finish the day went on The Incredible Hulk.. It was a.maz.ing.. One of the best rides I've ever been on! Loved every second... Another bonus that we didnt have to queue for any ride again for longer than 20mins!
That night the trio were out in force.. Aled came for a sleepover.. Pre drinks consisted alot of vodka, sex talk and cartwheels - all before 9 o'clock.. This was bad news for Aled as he found out later in the night and was so smashed had to head home earlier.. These llantwit boys just can't hack it!
We went to a bar called Margaritaville, and as soon as we arrived Josie had forgotten her ID.. So had to go back and collect it. In that time, me and aled managed to celebrate our first year anniversary with a congrats from the band & dance on our own like ballroom dancers in front of a restaurant of people!
When Josie returned, we thought it would be fun to dress in Aled's raybans and hat.. Thinking we were amazing! Piggy backs and running into water fountains consisted of our journey over to the next bar! We went into the Irish bar for one, before going to the Kareoke Bar once again. Josie put me and her down to do Britney Spears, even though I told her I would never get up. She thought by the time we were called I'd be stupid enough to get up in front of over 100 people to sing.. Well she could think again.. Therefore had to get up on her own! Not long after this, Aled passed out on the table and left!
Next morning I woke to Aled practically singing "wakey wakey, eggs and bacey" ... He had some dirty looks from me and some grunts from Josie before leaving us sleeping!
In the afternoon, Aled and the fam picked us up to go and chill at their pool and watch the Disney fireworks! There was a massive storm and after the air had cleared, Me, Josie, Huw and Aled went in the pool and hot tub whilst the sun was coming down.. Was a very romantic setting with the Edwards boys! We watched the fireworks before heading back to our hotel!
Day 5... Now for the Disney parks.. First stop.. Epcot.. I have quite high expectations.. But these were soon to be popped! Our first ride "land of time", or something along those lines! What a pile of rubbish.. 2nd wasn't really much better and this theme continued.. However, we visited lots countries and Josie (& me a little) got very excited that in the UK it sold UK chocolate! The day was made by meeting lots and lots of Disney characters.. We had our photos with Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Jasmine & Aladdin, Goofy and Pluto! I felt like a child cuddling full grown characters but it's all in the name of fun! I was a bit put off that even with a fancy dress outfit on, I was still about 2 feet higher than Minnie Mouse.. Must've been a midget I reckon.. Maybe the same one from Vegas!
Other points of interest during Epcot include the high percentage of absolute mingers that work there! I think I seen about one half decent looking guy... And he was probs a 2/10 ... Connotations with Epcot = Mingers! I know it's mean, but it's the truth.. And I only speak the truth! One minger, Amie her name was even managed to diss Josie in front of a room full of people.. Hilarious!
Again, that evening we planned to chill out, had a nice relaxing bath, got in to bed, watched Miss Congeniality! Josie decides to make a comment that she is agitated.. I chose to ignore this comment as I knew what she was hinting.. Ten minutes passed.. "come on then Jose, were going out"... The vodka was out, ready in half an hour and off to universal again! It was Saturday Night after all, and you would've never found us in on a Saturday night at home, so why break a tradition?
Standard, we heading to the Irish bar for a cocktail and to listen to the amazing pianists blasting some amazing tunes out! Then went to a club called The Grove.. It was insane.. Played some amazing music! The crazy dancing came out once again.. A new Zealand guy came up to me and asked if we were staying at Days Inn because he remembered me (slightly stalkerish if you ask me).. Well, then we made some new friends... Some very hot New Zealand firemen.. The four of them were pretty hunky I must say.. And I'm not afraid to admit that I had a cheeky kiss with the fittest one! They challenged us to jagerbombs and I showed them who was boss.. Not a good idea though when they are quite competitive and determined to beat me, so they keep buying and buying! Successful random night again from Josie and Liz!
Our next morning, we were going to a place that I've been dreaming off for a very long time. Magic Kingdom. Where the Disney princess castle is!!!! I was like a child all day and now have started calling Josie, Mummy. As I am missing my mummy so I need a replacement! I also showed her how stroppy i can be and had tantrums all through disney, just to wind her up..Cant say she's too fond of this nickname, but it's sticking!
We walked into Disney and a parade started just as we entered.. I think it was because we ha arrived, but I can't be sure! When I saw the castle, a tear was brought to my eye, what a child!! We visited two lands, tomorrow land, where we rode Space Mountain, the rubbish Lilo and Stitch Ride and Buzz Light Year! Then we did Thunder Mountain in a cowboy world before getting extremely hot and bothered and headed to Aled's hotel as we hadn't seen him for a day and missed him!
Whilst we were leaving the park, the funniest thing happened... There was a sign saying 'Meet Disney Fairy here'... I said look Jose there she is.. It was only an old lady sat in a wheel chair with a hat on stood in the fairy meet and greet. It may have been a location joke, but had us in giggles and put us both in very hyper moods.. just in time to meet ally pally!
In the evening, we had to go to downtown Disney as Huw had to pick his shoes up, in which he had decided to have his face and name put on the front.. Self obsessed much?! But actually hilarious, legend in my eyes! He was the talk of the shop, as as you can imagine no one has ever asked for their own face on their own shoes before!! After, we went to the cinema to see Contageon.. Amazing cast so you would've thought it would've been an amazing film.. Think again!!! I wasted two precious hours of my life watching something I could've written myself..!
That's week one of Florida over! :( Time is going way way too fast!
