Boston, Boston babyyyyyyyy.. We have now left the lovely Jody's and been passed on to Lee's in Hingham, Boston! On the drive through from New Hampshire to Boston, we crossed the Boston Bridge to a slightly muggy view of Boston's skyline!
Arrived to Lee's and her family in a really nice neighbourhood with a movie room and everything.. Considering the weather wasn't on top notch and Josie was extremely hungover we spend most of the day in the movie room watching high school musical and such jazz! An extremely early night was in order and it was "like luxury" to gave my own bedroom. This has now topped my best sleep since leaving the UK!
Next day wasn't too productive in the sense that we didn't explore as it was raining outside but we did do some job hunting and caught up on America's Next Top Model! Loving the chilling out..
Next day, we headed on the boat to explore Boston! The boat took about 40mins to get in and gave us in an awesome view of the city. We got off to explore and hit a Starbucks for a hot chocolate to plan our day. Quincey Market, Cheers bar and the Prudential Tower were all on our list of things to do!
Quincey Market was first, which was a cute Market filled with food and little gifts! Picked up our postcards before almost falling on the cobbles.. It was like blinking coronation street, not that I've ever been there, it's just how I imagine it!
Next stop was to walk through the park and find Prudential Tower... Was quite a trek but did manage it..! On our little trek a man decided to give us a balloon of a flower. How nice of him. Josie popped hers in about two seconds, which made a lot of people jump! Very entertaining.
Hunted down the tower and headed up high to see Boston from the top. We sat at a table and ordered a crab cake to share between us... Coming in at a total of $16 for a spoonful of food.. Jeeeeeez Louise. Not sure if the view was worth that!
Next stop: a bar. And with Halloween in spirit it was only rightful to have a witches brew cocktail! Well one went down nicely and the second got me pretty hammered. Do not know what was in it but I know it was only the afternoon.. Eeeek!
After a drunken afternoon, on my part, Josie was still able we took the boat back to Hingham, which turned out to be the most hilarious Journey of my life. We were sat opposite a 40ish year old guy who was casually sat chatting on his phone.. " okay, sure, I'll be home soon, okay, yes, love you..." .. Ready for it.. "love you mummy!!!" ... Oh my gosh, that started me off. And if that wasn't bad enough, he took out his laptop and by his facial expressions, looked like either he was watching a porno or his mum had sent him some pretty messed up pictures! Along with this, we had Elton John look-a-like smiling to himself on his iPad. Maybe they were chatting to each other.. We were both in fits of giggles and looked like childish teenage girls, but definitely couldn't care less as it was so freaking funny!
Next day, Saturday I believe, we were moved to another family.. Emily and Mike's in Winchester, Boston. This is where the hard work for our Halloween costumes are paid off!
Planning the party by making gravestones with lots of phrases on it was good fun! Then to get ready to party as Lil Red Riding Hood!
Punch of vodka, beer and frozen lemonade was out and the night was fun fun times of talks of Jersey Shore and drinking games..
Sunday morning... What better way to spend Halloween in America than a trip to the witches capital, Salem! We took Emilys car and managed to direct ourselves, googlemapless to Salem.. It was freeeeezing as it had been snowing but the atmosphere was fab!
People were dressed up in Halloween costumes, and there were lots of events going on. We decided to visit the graveyard where all the "witches" were buried and buy tickets for three events. The first being a witches spell... Ummm.. How can this be described.. Weird. We had to chant after her and then make a wish.. Made my wish which wi be kept a secret foreverrrr and will never ever come true!
Whoever knows me well, knows that I am an absolute wuss, so why out of choice did I decide to go in a haunted house.. I've never screamed so much in my entire life.. Was blinking ridiculous! Never again in my life unless I have a hunky man next to me and not Josie, who was screaming almost as much as me!
Next was a wax museum, not much to say, it was pretty pants! We headed home to bed before our last night in Boston!
Last day in Boston and we took a wander for some breakfast into Winchester... Before getting some rest before crazy ass New York City!!
Morning came and it was time to say goodbye to Emily, Mike and cute lobster French bulldog, Cooper! 4 hours and New York won't know what's hit it...!
"now I'm in New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of..."
