"Working 9-5... What a way to make a living.." - Dolly P, our day song on our way to home of Dolly.. Nashville, Tennessee.. Oh wait, I am actually unemployed, travelling the world.. Great way to remind me I have no job.. Good choice of day song hey!
Left Dallas to a cake and note from the ever lovely Carlos.. And extremely sad to have left Texas! I will be back.. We have a deal!
Sunday afternoon driving along the freeway to make our way to Tennessee. Quick stop at home numerous deux, walmart and bought our first corn dog.. Jose decided to capture this on camera.. Two words: Minging and Dodgy! The actions that were completed whilst tasting this corn dog was not the classiest thing that I've ever done, I must say! And to add insult to injury, it tasted like poop.
We then stopped at the state line of Arkansas.. Pronounced Are- Kansas.. Or so you would think.. Obama did not spell it how it should be pronounced.. Just like Yosemite!! I wish he would spell it how he wanted people to pronounce it, because it just gets real confusing!
Drove for a while longer, before kipping in the car for the 2nd time of the road trip.. But instead of being boiling like last time, it was blinking freezing! Bad times! Woke at about 8 in the morning for the car park to be surrounded by people.. I looked lush and Josie looked about the same state!!
On to Tennessee it was! Stopped early morning in Memphis.. Home town of Elvis Prezzers! We stopped at the state line, but no sign to be found.. Think some one had stole it.. Just like Kennedy's statue in Dallas! Any ways.. We made the most of it and went to visit Graceland... And had a little peak at the heartbreak hotel.
Then we made our way to Nashville... Really nice city! A cross between country and jazz.. And very musical themed.. As was the place we were staying. Perfect for Josie being musically inclined.. But for me... With everyone playing piano, guitar and singing.. I stuck out like a sore thumb when I just wanted to catch a tan!
We chilled that day, as in I sunbathed.. Before getting ready for some drinks. We headed to the communal area with our vodka as we thought we'd be sociable. Well, if we did!! They only bloody confiscated our vodka.. Fuming!! This meant we had to buy beer, BEER!! Eeeeeeeww not happy! We had some drinks and played ride the bus with a British guy, Jack and a yank, Patrick before heading to a place called The Five Spot.. It was a 50's themed night club! Amazing, was so much fun attempting to do the hand jive and the other dances.. I ended up just spinning around a couple of times and having a cider (a really well deserved one) before we headed home! We met a guy called Alun who pretended he was my boyfriend when talking to this couple and he put on the most AMAZING British accent.. Although we looked like the most similar couple ever.. As I had long brown hair with curls.. As did he! Bit weird!
Tuesday day, we went to explore Nashville.. We walked a good 4 miles.. To burn off our extensive eating that I have decided to take up as a sport! We found broadway, which had such cool honky tonk (that word makes me laugh so much) bars on. We sat in a bar called Wild Western, which had THE custest old couple singing country and western songs. Once the old lady finished her part, she sat down and finished drinking her beer! Legend!!
Then we headed to a farmers Market, was pretty cute. But it was pretty much the end of the day, so missed the main bit! Tuesday night came around.. Got ready, sat in the communal area again with our BEER.. As you can tell I am not Impressed with this! Had a good ol' chin wag with our new friend Brad aka Justin Lee Collins.. And he caught me out, because the night before I told him my surname was something polish.. He also knows not to trust anything that comes out of mine an Josie's mouths! Damn, he caught on to us too quickly.. Other lies included that Josie owned six sheep and that I was related to the queen! He was good fun.. Me and Josie also played a game of Tabboo, which involves picking cards.. And describing the word without saying numerous other words.. Well, we were the bomb! We know each other too well... One word was "alcohol" and all Josie said was "we like this" .. Got it straight away.. Another word was "cowboy" and I said I want to marry one.. She got it straight away! The boys were very shocked how we were describing the words, but was very entertaining!!
We headed out to Broadway to a honky tonk bar called Tootsie's .. Was mega cute with a real cool band on.. Only issue was it was freeeeezing, as was all the other bars.. And we were pretty drunk so headed home. Josie stayed up to chat to Justin Lee Collins and co.. I went to use my phone and passed out fully clothed.. Classy girl!
Early morning, we were leaving musicville.. To start our long journey to chicago, illinois! In the mean time though, we stopped at Kentucky! Home of Mr Kernal.. (or that's how it should be spelt) .. We spent the day in Louisville, exploring the city.. Well, just walking up and down 4th c
Street as we kept getting lost!
... And just to throw it out there.. Most Americans are dirty pervs.. We are considering printing pictures just to hand out because they have NO idea what subtly is! Like it's minging when a 50 year old man just stares at us constantly.. Gross's me out mate!
We then stopped at a cool street called Live Street.. So decided we wanted to spend the night here and have a party.. Before heading to chicago to party the weekend away!!
We headed out about 10ish and while we were walking down the street, a group of business men asked us if we wanted to join them for drinks and a game of bowling.. We thought why the hell not? Really cool group of guys.. Didn't spend a penny and sucked ass at bowling! Josie got extremely hammered so we left about 1ish and she can't remember parts of the night.. Joan aka Josie cannot handle her jagerbombs!!
Early morning wake up to check out of our hotel to continue road trip welsh style.. We stopped at Columbus, state of Indiana! Very American town, with typical American houses with flags outside. We went to play on the swings on the park.. Probs looked slightly dodge.. But it the sun was shining and we wanted to make the most of our day. After, we went to sit outside a cafe for a diet coke and to chiillllll out! Was loving life thinking of you lot back home working hard!
We continued our journey, before stopping to see a movie at Lafayette! We went to see What's your number? ... Absolutely hilarious!! Corker of a film... Also me and Josie were on our own in the cinema.. So decided to sit at completely different ends of the cinema!
Then came our first major disaster of our trip so far.. Driving along and the car starts going crazy! Turns out we had a puncture and our wheel was pretty much going around on the metal bit... s*** mate! We pulled over after panicking and stressing out.. We decided to ask some guys to help us change our tire.. Thank god for them aye!
Mission disaster completed we continued our journey to Illinois... Chicago... Arrived safely and here for the weekend! Partaaaaay time!!
Finished our country part of our road trip.. Back to the city life..
Love y'all like a fat kid loves cakes..
