We had a little sleep in today after our night out. I have a feeling that we were all feeling a bit hung over but no one was saying anything. LOL.
After breakfast Graham, Eddie and I packed our bags and headed on our way to Glendaruel to visit Grahams mum and dad. As you will see by the map they live in the middle of nowhere :)
We had a few stops on the way, one was at the Rest to be Thankful stop. Graham and Eddie had a roll and sausage from the van (square Sausage which is a Scottish thing).
The drive was really good, the scenary just beautiful. The journey took a couple of hours with all our stopping.
Graham's parents Kathleen and Jim have a beautiful home in the country. The wee street has around six houses. Just beautiful gardens, it reminded me of home a wee bit..
We made it in time for lunch which was great! Some lovely soup. We then went for a walk up the hill at the end of the garden through some woods and onto a track that led up to the windmills. I had never been up close to a windmill before, they were so big and scary looking. Didn't really like standing under them. Bit of a wimp aye. It was a large wind farm, had around 30 windmills.
On the way down we went through the woods and saw the ruins of where Glendaruel used to have a village many many years ago, that was quite good to see.
After the walk we decided to go for a wee drive. We ended up at an old church. Was quite eerie going in as it was starting to get dark and we were in the middle of an old cemetary. We also saw some strange looking sheep, totally black with a white stripe down there face.
Once back to the house we had a rest.
Grahams mum Kathleen made us this beautiful dinner. Chicken breasts stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon. Best meal since we have been away, awesome.
