Woke up to another beautiful day in the country. Kathleen and Jim have such a lovely place out in th country, it remindered me a little of my Great Nana's house on the West Coast in the South Island.
We had a quick breakfast and headed on our way to Loch Eck. It was a really beautiful drive. We stopped in at the Foresty Commission and went for a lovely walk through the woods to a big waterfall. We saw some red squirrels on the way, the sun was shining and hot. It the area there are a lot of walks and cycle tracks that you can do. It was also part of the walk Cowal Way.
We stopped for lunch at a wee cafe that was attached to a garden walk area. The food was really nice then we had a sneek peak at the gardens without our sticker that you had to pay for. We live on the edge ;)
After the cafe we stopped in at a place where a guy does chainsaw craft. He has made some amazing pieces, very cool. He love's NZ, has visited a few times.
Kathleen and Jim then drove us down to Dunoon where we saw a submarine. We had both never seen one before in real life (operating) so it was kind of cool. I didn't realise how big they are, we watched this for sometime. We then went for a walk up to a lookout point as it was such a lovely day you could see for miles along the River Clyde. At the lookout there was also a statue of one of Robert Burns mistresses, Mary.
Kathleen and Jim then took us down to the bus station which we caught back to Glasgow. The bus went on the Ferry which was about 20 mins then through to Glasgow, the whole trip was about 1.5 Hours.
Once again thank you Kathleen and Jim for taking care of us for the weekend, we really had a lot of fun and we hope that one day we can do the same for you when you come over to New Zealand :) and we also can't wait until we can visit again.
We arrived back at Glasgow about 5 Minutes before Graham got home so worked out well as we didn't have a key to get inside. The weather was so hot.
Graham, Alison, Eddie and I then headed out to Byers Road which is a popular place to go out for meals. We had dinner at a really nice restaurant then went to the Botanicall Gradens to try and feed the Squirrels but we were to late for them, there were none about.
Graham then drove us to Summerston to try and meet up with Betty as she feeds the foxes every night, but she wasn't there. We were to early for her.
Then off to bed :) (not altogether, there are two rooms, lol)

Kathleen & Jim Glad you enjoyed your visit to the outer reaches of Argyll. We too, enjoyed your visit and hope to see you back here in the not too distant future. The weather has been so hot since you left! Have a good time on the Isle of Man and safe journey back to Kiwi Land. Haste ye back to Scotland!
