Up early and out the door. Being a Sunday, many stores and exhibits were closed. We basically did the Rick Steve's Night Walk during the daytime to see all the detail... Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Augustus' Victory Obelisk and Colonna's Column, the Trevi Fountain and then the Spanish Steps.
We stopped into a little restaurant off the Trevi where Steve had Carbonara in honor of his co-worker, Paul, who had provided so much help in planning this adventure. We took a slightly different walk home to catch a varied view.
When darkness set in, we did it all again under the lights of Rome. This time, we used the iPad to help guide us so we would stay on a more direct route. Another Osteria on a back lane yielded another excellent meal. In total, we walked about 8.5 miles.
