Today I had a life changing experience... I will never be able to eat a sausage roll again! ...
Meg and I ventured off on a day tour to Stonehenge and Bath.
Stonehenge = Rocks in the middle of a field that is in the middle of nowhere. The rocks were larger than i expected and that was about all that suprised me. Noone knows how the rocks got there or why they were brought there. We grabbed our audio guide and walked around the henge for about 20mins but the fascination about rocks in the middle of a field died off pretty fast!
This is where I had the most disgusting sausage roll ever. We were recommended this as the best sausage roll so we just had to try it. It was like Clag glue, a little bit of unkown meat and something similar to pork flavouring all rolled into one and baked inside the pastry. Sooo disgusting. I only had 2 bites but I had an upset stomach for the rest of the day and I dont think i will ever be able to bring myself to eat another sausage roll!
Bath - First up we visited the Roman Baths. The Romans built around the hot springs to create the baths after they discovered the therapeautic value of them. There's a museum around the baths that shows how they came about etc etc. The main big bath was greenish and you arent allowed to swim in them - not that you'd want to! Suprisingly there was quite a strong flow of water naturally flowing into the bath. It is all quite special how the water is naturally bubbling and flowing
.
We had 2 more hours to wander around Bath at our leisure. We just explored the streets and shops with the hundreds of other tourist out enjoying the beautiful weather. It was a beautiful old town, would be perfect for a weekend getaway to relax. Beautiful old buildings with cobblestone roads and petunias hanging from baskets full of colour just top off the feel of the whole town. A lovely town, definately recommend a visit.
