Today was my first day out and about by myself.. and I survived!! Visited the following main attractions :

- Buckingham Palace - The Palace itself look very deserted. Only movement within the the yard were the guards marching up and down. But outside the gate, lots and lots of tourists! Walked through St James park towards Horse Guards square. lots of people out enjoyin the sunshine and exercising.

- Trafalgar Square - Just a big concrete area with a big statue (Nelsons column) in the middle and a couple of fountains.

- National Gallery - Got a bored of looking at paintings of Jesus. Not my kinda thing.

- National Portrait Gallery - Went straight for the BP Portrait Award 2010. Some amazing paintings here, some look just like a photo but its actually a painting. I don't have the same appreciation for art as most other people so i also didn't last long here.

- Big Ben, Parliment and Westminster Abbey - A photo of these building doesnt do it justice. Amazing old buildings, very impressive.

Was a totally exhausting day. My legs arent used to walking this long all day but they better get used to it!! Went out for dinner to the local pub with Megs housemates and called it a day.
