Technically it's Tuesday, already a few days into my 16th week but I haven't had a chance to sit and write at all… I haven't been off the ship since thursday March 31st and haven't been able to get any wifi and every time I want to sit and blog, my new roomie is either watching television or listening to music so tonight I finally have a moment to write real quick. now lets just hope I'm able to remember all that went on last week.
WEEK15- Saturday I bought my GoPro Camera! which I still have yet to learn to use, but I got it!! If you don't know what it is, it's an awesome little camera I can take with me when I'm out in the water paddle boading, kyaking, snorkling, skydiving, surfing, biking... doing anything fun and exciting, it shoots photos and video so I'm hoping I get some good use out of it for the next five months I'm here.
Check out the video on GoPro.com, its incredible.
Charmaine didn't make her flight so I was still the only one in the salon, which I kind of didn't mind if she came or if she didn't, we've officially hit the slow season and I got use to working by myself. Katia was sailing this week finally getting a chance to enjoy the Islands and not have to worry about work, I didn't get to see much of her unless she popped into the spa for a couple minutes but when that happened I was with a guest.
Sunday I got off the ship at two and went to the laundry mat because doing laundry on the ship takes a thousand years and even at that your clothes still aren't clean, the majority of washers are broken. While I was there ran into Sean, from guest services, I've cut his hair a couple times and actually he was my tutor during my first week on the ship for STCW since I was afraid I wasn't going to do well on the test because I had a difficult time staying awake during class. We got to talking about how the ship needs new washers and all and it happened to be his first time at the laundry mat as well so we were trying to figure out how the machines worked. That evening I met up with Gina and we got dinner at IHOP near the ship, we both ate way more than we wanted to.
To be completely honest Monday and Tuesday are a blur.
Wednesday I had a longer lunch so I rode the shuttle to Target to see if I could get a micro SD card for my new GoPro Camera and turned out they were all out of the one I wanted, so that was pretty much a waste of my long break. I closed the spa that day and finally got a chance to finish the book my sister sent me, "Passion and Purity" I absolutely loved it! Now I'm just waiting for my next book to come that my buddy is sending me :]
Thursday I worked and got off the ship around two and headed to the mall to grab some lunch and go to starbucks so I could finally get on the internet to get the manual and learn to use my GoPro, when I was finished there I walked into Dejavu which is a cute little surf shop and ended up buying a cute outfit and a touch screen for my GoPro. When I got back to the ship my coworkers; Amber, Silvia, Lauren, Gina and myself got all our stuff together to go walk to the light house and have a little picnic with cheese and crackers and wine. Before walking there we met up with Aaron, from excursions, and two of his friends we were visiting from holland. We ate some dinner at Kalapaki Joe's and then headed to the light house which we didn't make it to and Silvia ended up taking us to a little secret beach where we spent the rest of the night enjoying our cheese and crackers and creation. We took some fun long exposure pictures as well, like the one on this blog. I captured some beautiful photos of the moon light shining on the water and the stars, now I just wish I had a tripod with me.
Friday. Long Day. 12 shampoos and blow drys.
It wasn't a super eventful week but all of us really enjoyed our time hanging out on thursday. All of my guests that week were super nice, there's always a few guests telling me when I make it big as a photographer in LA they'll be the one's saying "I remember when she worked for NCL" or "I wish you could just come home with me and do my hair all the time" or "good luck with all your hopes and dreams" I absolutely love getting compliments like that and they all put in there little bits of advice or encouragement and its great to hear it.
Just 49 days till I'm home sweet home!<3
