The place here gives you the feeling of being Robinson Crusoe - with the luxury of having the lodge on top of the hill with all its amenities. There is a nature path along the beach that let you discover different beaches, small bays, rivers, waterfalls and once more - a huge amount of animals. Red Aras come to hang around on the Almondtrees, Toucans jump in the branches just 4m away from our hammocks, White faced monkeys show up in a hoard once a day trying to steal the cookies in a closed jar in the restaurant, hummingbirds feed on flowers... its animal heaven here! We have fullboard and the food is delicious, the best we've had on this trip. After being on holidays for 17 days, we've reached the state of being able to just hang out. Our hanging out includes: reading, watching the sea (whales/dolphins), playing Uno and Rummycub, talking to staff and other guests, swimming in the sea, jumping waves, eating, celebrating apéro time, surfing the net and taking pictures, writing diary/blogging. I feel that by now, we have embraced the initially staggering (to some degree shocking) differences to the way of living here in Costa Rica compared to home. Our minds have opened up, we appreciate things more, our awareness to different ways are finetuned and as I can speak only for myself, I am deeply inspired by nature. If you are an animal lover, Costa Rica is THE place to go!
