Today I woke up and I'm pretty certain you could have fried an egg on my forehead. The room was roasting! Waking up covered in sweat is pretty rank, but never fear, WADA hostel offers a cold shower 24/7! Ha ha. I jumped in the shower and got ready for the day. We walked to the supermarket to check out the scope for breakfast. I picked up some Dragon fruit and water. A tasty and healthy breakfast! We sat outside McDonalds on a curb like two classy birds and munched our fruit. After breakie we decided today would be the day to do the botanical gardens.
We set of for the gardens and payed the fee to get in (even though the locals get in free!) . Immediately I spotted little buggy karts you can drive around the area. One of the things I want to do most on my travels is rent a motorbike or moped and do a long stretch, so I wanted a little practice! In the end we decided to leave it as we haven't done much exercise the past few days so the walk would do us the world of good! The gardens were beautiful. It was like being in the jungle with little lakes filled with fish! There were sections that offered up very nice photo opportunities, including Melissa planking on a bush haha. Randomly, we spotted a wedding shop in the middle of the gardens, then after much confusion we clicked that many people must get married here. I posed for a
Few of my wedding snaps then swiftly got out of there!
We walked and talked some more and even seen a photoshoot happening in the middle of the gardens. After seeing everything the gardens had to offer we left and headed back to the hostel. I thought I would give the hostel computers a whirl at uploading my photos because the previous ones have failed miserably. I still wish I had of got
An iPad before I left! Would make it so much easier, but alas they worked. It did take me two hours to get them off my camera but I am chuffed I
Finally have them on my blog. I sat around some more and realised that today was the first day I have been properly homesick. I haven't even been gone long but it feels like I haven't seen my family in ages. It helps having Melissa around as she's family, and she also said that its normal and it happens to her all the time! I felt quite sad so made an effort to tell dad I'd skype him later.
Mel and I went then went on a dander for dinner trough the local market to pick my moaning face up. The place is really nice nice and has stalls with every type of noodle or rice you could want! My favourite! Nat! I picked up some sushi and Mel picked up a salad . We also thought it would be good to pick up breakfast for tomorrow seen as we had planned a busy day hiking and exploring! I got some watermelon and more water.
Back to the hostel and Mel and I flicked through the movie list. We picked collateral with mark wahlberg. For obvious reasons! During the movie dad was able to skype and Kyle was there too which was a nice surprise! We chatted for a bit and it was lovely. It's so much nicer seeing families faces as opposed to just texting. Sometimes I wonder how people coped without all this modern technology! After the call Mel and I watched another movie with ray winstone. I was so tired my eyes were closing before the end of the movie. We went back to the room and straight to bed!
