We had a very mixed day today weather-wise as it was raining most of the time. We went shopping this morning on Pier 39 in San Francisco & it was wet & miserable so not really suitable for photography. We went over the Golden Gate bridge but couldn't see anything really which was quite disappointing. Then Susie (our Satnav) confused us just north of SF, sending us round in circles. The journey here was a bit fraught altogether with huge trucks putting up spray everywhere. The American trucks don't have rear mudguards so this is the result.
The photo is the only one I took today. It is of the white car outside our room here at the Sonora Inn. Apparently Sonora was a gold rush town being "on the southern gateway to California's gold rich Mother Lode". I was surprised to see that the Sonora pass further up into the Rockies is still blocked by snow from the winter & they had more snow up there today.
Tomorrow we move on to Yosemite & so we hope the weather improves or we won't see very much.
Mileage today was 176, total so far in the white car 241. We did 531 miles in the red one, making 772 so far in total.
