Today is Monday so this must be Wisconsin. The scenery today was more interesting than yesterday, the farms seem to be much smaller & certainly the fields are. They are delineated by hedges & there are many wooded areas. At one point Doreen reemarked that we could easily be in England. The main differrence today was the temperature, as it was uncomfortably hot. Thank goodness we have air conditioning in the car, but it does knock the fuel consumption up, by about 5 mpg. We did stop off at a wetland reserve at Baraboo but it was too hot for Doreen to get out of the car, she just wanted to get to our hotel as soon as possible.
At one point we were diverted off Interstate 94 by the police & again the detour was impeccably handled. At every junction on the diversion there was a police car with police directing traffic so the delay was not too long. This is the third diversion we have encountered during our trip & all have been handled in the same efficient manner. We stopped off at a couple of rest areas & like every other one we have seen they are very clean with no graffiti or litter.
Tomorrow we plan to get a haircut here in Madison before moving on through Milwaukee & Chicago to Kalamazoo in Michigan.
Mileage today 341. Total (this car) 3432 Total 3963.
