Lazy morning by the pool then Yvonne when shopping while David took a leisurely stroll to the local bar.
We are starting to regret having booked 12 nights here, as we are kicking our heals waiting for Monday when we travel again. When we booked everything we thought it would be nice to have a long break at the end but as it turns out we would have much preferred to keep travelling. The trouble with 8 weeks is you are not really on holiday so holiday activities don't really fill the days. Don't get us wrong 5-6 days relaxing is nice but just about our limit now as we are so used to the travelling. Nevertheless we will struggle on with the relaxation and look forward to the next stage of our travels.
While around the pool we added up all the nationalities we met (21) and different countries food we have eaten (16), the world really is a small place these days.
We are sitting in the local bar it's 5pm and raining. Rain is good for the tuk-tuk's (taxi made from a small flat bed truck) here usually nobody uses them as they are run by the local Mafia and all over charge. consequently all the tourists walk so the taxi drivers sit around all day shouting taxi or tuk-tuk. They also have dual personality, by day they are mild mannered modes of transport but at night they turn into hell taxis with massive speakers, flashing lights, and all playing house music. The passengers usually jump in all shouting in a party mood but by the end you can see them stumble out, shell shocked, blood pouring from their ears, a dazed look in their eyes and if it's a family, the small children crying. Generally the passengers wish they had walked. We have tried to take pictures to show what there like but the other thing about them is the sheer speed they travel at, Lewis Hamilton would be impressed.
Made the mistake of eating western food tonight, David had a pie, well Thia interpretation of a pie actually it was stew in a round bowl with a square of puff pastry on top. (See picture with this post) Yvonne had ribs and chips, not sure what animal the ribs were from but Yvonne commented that they tasted better than they looked. Should have known never order western in Thailand.
Night night boys and girls.
