Day 14 - We are again enjoying a beautiful sunny day. Leaving our best B&B so far (hosted by very friendly & helpful Craig & Emma) at Betws-y-coed (pronounced Betseecood - I think!). We crossed back into England around lunch time at Druid and headed east, skirting around Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth. We continued further south, skirting around Birmingham in the Midlands, through Redditch and on to Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare country). We toured Anne Hathaway's cottage (William Shakespeare's wife) and magnificent cottage gardens. The conducted tour of the cottage was very interesting, with much of the original furniture still in place. The two story cottage is over 400 years old and very well maintained. Some of the Hathaways still live in the area. Our stopover here took a large part of the afternoon, so it was soon back on the road heading south towards Gloucester & Bristol. We got on the M5 motorway just south of Evesham and was cruising at 90mph and being passed by a lot of cars. Got a photo on the blog of the speedo. It think the speed limit on these motorways is 70mph. Saw plenty of signs, but didn't see any cameras. We got off the M5 at Clevedon (a coastal town on the entrance to the Severn). Found a B&B on the beach. Had a great pub meal down the road at "The Moon & Sixpence". Washed it down with a pint of Fosters followed by a pint of Old Speckled Hen. Carmel had her usual sauv blanc. Covered lots of miles to-day (some of them very quickly), but it was easy motoring.
