What an awesome week! My pictures are sort of all over the place but I'll outline what I did. On Wednesday there was a Bush Dance for the international students. A real bush band came and played songs for us. They did outback demostrations too with whips and playing the diggereedoo. Some members of the audiance got to try too and it was pretty funny. Then there was dancing. It was a lot like country line dancing and I sort of got the hang of it- it was fun. Then on Friday I went to a great camp on the Morington Pennisula- about 1hr away from Melbourne. It was so much fun. The camp was very nice. As soon as I got there I hopped into the beach. On Saturday I went on a tour group to Bushrangers Bay. We went bushwalking and I saw my first wild kangaroos! Check out the pictures. The scenery was beautiful. We ended up at a gorgeous beach. There were two terriers there who were running in the ocean and I got to play with them. On Sunday I did the ropes course. There was a giant swing that brought you 60 feet up into the air and then dropped you. It took a little bit for my stomach to get used to but I tried it twice and had a lot of fun. I also tried the Leap of Faith- I had to jump off a platform and catch a bar 20ft up in the air- I almost got it. Sunday night I went to the Botanical Gardens for the open air cinema. I got to attend the worlds largest short film festival. It was pretty neat. On Monday I had my first class- Australian Wildlife Biology. I am going to learn about all the different types of Australian birds, mammals, and reptiles and do some fieldwork. It looks pretty good. Another great week!
