Lets take this gig global!!
Well krikey!!
what a mental week!! Its been pretty crazy over the past few days guys so apologies about the lack of updates. I've done a ton of stuff but will try and keep it all as brief as possible!
The Ramsay Street tour was quality and a really cheesy few hours, driving around in a bright 'Neighbours' painted bus watching old episodes and that. Our guide was a good bloke tho and gave us some pretty interesting gossip and funny stories but unfortunately put a few "infamous rumours" to bed aswell! Without breaking too many hearts Im afraid that its actually Pinhoe Court not Ramsay St. and is based in Blackburn not Erinsborough!! Was a really good day on the whole and we got to go to the school, the studios (but not in them!) and of course the street itself! Got the comedy pics of me outside the houses and that and yes, it is REALLY weird being there!!
We also followed it up with a stonker of a night at the "Meet your Neighbours" evening in St Kilda. We got lucky too and as it was a bank holiday we got to meet a few of the stars AND see Dr Kennedy's bank play! Talk about two birds with one stone! It was a blinder and got to meet the Toadfish himself, Dr K (of course!!) and the absolutely stunning Steph Scully!! - That made my night! (oh and her son aswell, strangely!). So yeah that was brilliant.
After that things went a little weird and instead of continuing the sightseeing stuff we (for some reason!) ended up doing what everyone seems to do over here.....get drunk 24/7!! and partied for 3 days solid! I dont think I've ever had so much sleep deprivation in my life!! Anyways, that was enough of the Tooheys and Goon (aussie wine) for me so from Monday it was a clean start and I went back to the HUGE gardens and saw all the monuments and waterfountains and the ANZAC memorial for all the wars over the years (really impressive building!) Its a real Autumn feel over here so the gardens look beautiful and its great to stroll around!
On tues and weds me, Paul and (geordie) steve hired a car for two days and cruised the Great Ocean Road which was just spectacular to say the least. It literally hugs the coast for pretty much the whole way and we saw some amazing rock formations (12 Apostles, Arch, London Bridge etc) and a pod of whales, and koala bears in the wild which was amazing!
Then yesterday Steve and I extended our hire car and hit Bells Beach for the final of the Rip curl pro. It was an early start (5 am!) but well worth it ans it was going off down there with upto 10-15 ft waves and the pros surfing the best of the whole tour yet! Got to meet a few aswell (was proper star struck!) and saw Kelly Slater lift the famous Bells trophy!
Anyways, Ive gotta go now as my internet time is almost up.
Im heading to Sydney very soon so will update you then.
