HEY GUYS!!!!!!!
FOR THOSE THAT HAVENT CHECKED YET MUNICH HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!! YEY! SO SUSS IT OUT FOR THE FINISHED PRODUCT ;)
okay enough yelling hahaha onto budapest!! so after catching a train from Munich we arrived in the center of Budapest (on the Pest side) at about 7:00pm and thankfully from the station it was only a short walk to our hostel. when we arrived sat the hostel we were extra pleased to find the friendliest hostel owners we have come across so far, they sat us down with a map pointed out all the 'must see' laces in budapest along with their personal favourite places to eat, drink and visit and then the best part...they gave us the keys to our own APARTMENT! thats right for 18euro a night we had scored ourselves our own apartment with bathroom, living space and kitchen! Now believe me for two people who have been living in limited space with strangers, or even converted cuboards (haha) for most of the trip this WAS heaven! so after freshening up we headed out to a funky restaurant called Castro to enjoy a delicious hungarian dinner and boy did we eat well, two main meals and two side dishes, plus drinks for about 12 aussie dollars..yep you heard right 12 aussie dollars!!!! gotta love it when the conversion works in your favour!
The next day we slept in to the delightful time of 10:30am oh yeah! and we decided that today we were going to enjoy budapest while doing as little as possible! If you guys arnt aware yet, you'l be incredibly envious to know that Budapest is famous for its 'Baths and Spas' so with about 6 different places to choose from we decided to head to the most popular and one of the largest baths in budapest the 'Gallet Baths'. (please do yourselves a favour a look these up they are....amazing.)
so with our bathers on and towels in hand off we ttrotted to the 'Buda' side of town to the Gallet Baths for an afternoon of nothing but relaxation. When we arrived we were in awe of this incredible place, they are not just your average pools like we have back in Wezza, hahah no no, these baths have large 'public' areas which basically mean both men and woman are allowed, these were extremely large baths both inside and outdoors allong with an aray of saunas set at various temperatures and hey if you wanted to get massage and facial you could! along with these areas they both Men and Women only baths that were amazing, two seperate baths one at 36 degrees one at 38, along with these they had coold down pools at 18 degrees and from what i counted about 4 different types of steam rooms,in each section, plus you get your own private room to change in with a day bed!!! could this get any better!!!!!
okay enough making you guys jealous haha after our relaxation afternoon we head back to town for a nice late lunch and to watch the Aussies play ghana..not the best idea, the lunch was great..the game...not so great! oh well we had enjoyed a really great day so we went back to our apartment to get changed before grabbing some dinner :)
the next day before we had to catch a late afternoon train to Ljubjana we decided it was time to fit in some budapest site seeing, as we were only in town for a short time we new we couldnt visit too many sites but we were on another Adam and Chloe walking mission! so from our apartment we walked up to the old budapest Palace to take in some amazing views, as well as visiting a beautiful church up on the hilltop aswell, before walking back into Pest city centre to enjoy the town itself. Unfortunately Adam had taken his waterproof camera into a 70degree steam room the previous day..now the camera is waterproof but heat proof it was not! so as you can imagine we had some crazy condensation going on in the lense of the camera!!! now all our Budapest pictures from that next day look as though we are in intense fog!! hahah oh well, just another one for the story books!
anyway guys we better wrap this blog up so we can catch up with our next one... SLOVENIA!! (which has been a great highlight of the trip so it will be a big blog) sorry if this has been brief but we are trying so hard to catch up on our blogs as best we can :) we have been sailing around croatia this past week so we havent had access to the net.
We love and miss you all so so very much and cant wait to hear back from you all :)
LOVE CLO AND AD xoxo
