Raining steadily this morning and forecast for most of the day. So we cancelled the canal boat and rebooked for a half day Monday instead.
Decided to drive to Merthyr Tydfil to go on a steam train ride on the Brecon Mountain Railroad.Was a short but very scenic trip and we then had our picnic lunch in the car because of the rain. Alan prepared the ploughmans plates in the back seat and we all ate well while the car fogged up like the old days at the drive in theatre!
We got back to the cottage mid afternoon for a rest then enjoyed dinner at the Bear Hotel for our final night in Wales
Tomorrow the canal boat if the weather is ok and then to Bampton in Oxfordshire for our final week
Seems like we have been away for a long time but also seems to be coming to the end quite/too quickly!
Already advanced with planning for 2014 and 2015 as is the tradition - the difference it is being done on the iPad these days rather than on the serviette on the flight home as was the tradition!
