Tram into Alexanderplatz and on the hop on off bus for a 3 hour tour of Berlin. Best of these we have ever done - clean modern bus, excellent commentary and stopped for photos. This have us a great perspective of the whole city and the former east / west division by the wall.
Lunch in Mitte then walked the back streets to the start of our self guided walking tour of Berlins 10 major sites. Focus was on the east / west division and we learnt heaps about Berlin before, during and after the war.
Ended up back in Alexanderplatz in Mitte and walked a bit to Monsieur Vong, the most popular Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin. No bookings taken and always full but we snagged an outside table immediately. Very casual but classy - limited menu but fantastic food plus good service. Had a great meal and caught the tram home via the supermarket to top up on a few supplies.
Fabulous sunny weather today, lots of walking, a modern city with a complicated past and wonderful food to cap off a great day
