Bye bye beautiful Prague - you can reopen Charles Bridge now we are on our way to Berlin on the train.
Train followed the river to Dresden and some of flooding is quite devastating - roads under 2 metres of water and houses flooded and some smaller ones basically destroyed. Less protection in rural areas and lower lying hence much more damage over a large area. Train had to go slowly through these areas so we are over an hour behind time.
Arrived in the incredible Berlin Hauptbahnoff and taxi to apartment all ok. Fabulous apartment, spacious, airy, light with a small balcony. The location if great - leafy streets, supermarket nearby, short walk to tram direct into the centre and around the corner heaps of local bars, pubs and cafe / restaurants. It is a section of old East Berlin that has been done up and is primarily residential. Chose to have dinner at a local Italian restaurant.
