Rob and Jen bumming round the world for a bit
Hello everyone,
been a fair old while since i last wkacked a bit of an update on here, primarily 'cus we've ben on the go most of the time. Since we left Rockhampton (where we've just realised we didn't take a single photo, 'cus there was nothing to take a photo of), we've been to a little place called Agnes Water, Harvey Bay, from where we set off for fraser Island and our 4x4 self drive tour, Noosa and now we're in Brisbane.
agnes water was a nice little choice, i must say. We only heard about it through word of mouth but decided to go 'cus another couple of couples we'd met were off their too. It's a small place, up and coming as they say, and as a result all the activities were cheap. We went on a little kayaking tour for about 25$ each (about 12quid) which was well worth it. The hostel we stayed in was dorms only though, so we had no choice but to bunk down with some others. No worries though, just meant we were up early and made the most of our day or two there.
Anyway, it was off to a place called Harvey Bay next. Not much in the place itself, it's primarily a base from which to go on the popular 4x4 self drive tours. 'Self' though, didn't mean 'myself'. Due to my misdemenour before we came out, i didn't have my license with me and could therefore not do any driving. Gay! Otherwise, the trip was worth it, camping out under the stars and driving down beaches comprised most of the day, though it was yae expensive, they get you for every little thing when you do these trips. To add insult to financial injury, our group was fined $200 for putting a dent in the bonnet of the car. Utter b******S. They claimed we walked on it. Why the piss would we do that?
After returning from fraser Island, with sand in every concievable crevice (EVERY crevice), we spent another night in Harvey Bay recovering, before heading off a place called Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast. Stayed in a decent Hostel there, was a nice place to just relax for a couple of days. Noosa itself was really nice, though i think they cater to a slightly more affluent end of the market judging by the prices in the restaurants!
Now we're in Brisbane. A decent city, easy enough to get around and with some nice areas. We're here for another couple of days yet so i'll fill you all in next time. Unfortunately, 'Soccer' doesn't seem to be anywhere near the sport of choice round here, so the chance of me finding somewhere to watch the England game at 5:55am seems unlikely. Boo Hoo.
