Today Dragan who is a keen photographer gave us 2 photos to take home. One was of the Danube - a black & white picture of the traditional fishing boats, the other an early morning autumn scene.
When Dragan came home from work, we headed off to Bačka Palanka to purchase some bits & pieces for his computer & I bought some cool clothes for Dragan 2's boys - a parting gift as the youngest one was due to have a birthday.
In the meantime, John and I went to visit Mladen at his winery to see if his pickers had picked all the grapes for his 'champagne'. Malden was very tired and headed home, leaving his son Karlo in charge.
Picking was running a bit late and the crushing was expected to take place in the mid-afternoon. Later in the day we managed to see the tail end of the crushing of the grapes - a whole trailer load full. It's an exciting time for the owners of the vineyards, particularly as there was recent rain & there is a concern that the grapes may split & start to develop fungus and rot.
