Set off from my room in search of sustenance as I hadn't eaten in the last 18 hours. Mosied down the stairs bare foot (as per). Asked a friendly looking European chap where the bed place might be to get lunch... "turn right, right again then your on rama 4 you cant go wrong my friend" he said.
I turned right, right again, down a small road like alley and made it to the main road 4. To cut a longer story short I did not find such a place but did find a coke in a shop after I managed to persuade an old Thai woman that I definitely didn't want a beer.
I got back to the hostel and update the previous blog. Then I strolled to find a taxi to head back to the airport to finally meet Dave and Laura. Ended up being given a Thai lesson by a taxi driver who couldn't work English on the way. All I gathered from the subsequent 45 minute journey is that he hated thai women he loved Wooney, messyi and cwistianwo (ronaldo) and that he can count to at least 10 in Thai.
I made it to the arrivals lounge and through the nervousness and fretting of not finding where they would be I eventually found the arrivals lounge I saw lanky Dave strolling on the the CCTV viewer. We got back to the hostel then headed straight out for food (starving) we asked the landlady how much a bus was to siam square she said a walk is very far but a bus is only 8 baht (16p). We got a taxi and enjoyed some lovely food and and oversized beers.
Following this we then set out for a few drinks as it was Saturday night. We were strolling along when someone said we were heading away from the night life. We told him we were looking for a bar he said 'ping pong or bar' we said no ping ping thanks! He arranged a tuktuk or us and sent us to another bar but as soon as we got there we knew it wasn't for us. We strolled about for another bar and just as we were about to give up we stumbled upon a quieter bar with lots of locals (less foreigners the better apparently) and some acoustic music. We settled down and ordered a 'tower' of Heineken (as you do) pics en route again. We were having a nice catch up discussing the engagement and Dave and Laura's highlights when all sudden Laura exclaimed "she's a man", she being the (wo)man sat directly behind me. Between us we decided that; her hands were big, (s)he wiggled like a women but when we saw his face we were certain. This was later on double confirmed after a mini conversation and a few awkward handshakes....
When we finished the tower we decided to head to a store buy a few beers and head back to the hostel. We took advantage of the Internet to check Facebook and then finally called it a night.
